🎆 Stay Safe This Bonfire Night - A Message from Eastfield Neighbourhood Policing Team 🎆As Bonfire Night approaches, we're asking everyone to celebrate safely and responsibly. Fireworks can be a fantastic part of Bonfire Night, but every year people suffer preventable injuries, and we also see incidents of antisocial behaviour, property damage and distress caused to residents and animals when fireworks are used irresponsibly. Many firework-related injuries happen at private celebrations and often involve burns and injuries to the hands, eyes and face. Fireworks can also cause fires, damage to property and be particularly frightening for pets, livestock, young children and vulnerable members of our community. We would encourage residents to attend organised displays wherever possible. If you are planning your own celebration, please make sure you follow the Firework Code, purchase fireworks from reputable retailers, and always use them responsibly. As your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, we are also asking people to be considerate of others. Think about the impact fireworks may have on your neighbours and avoid setting them off late into the evening. A little consideration can help everyone enjoy the celebrations safely. Used irresponsibly, fireworks can cause significant harm to people and animals and can quickly become a serious fire risk. We want everyone to enjoy Bonfire Night while keeping themselves, their families and their communities safe. If you experience ongoing issues involving the irresponsible use of fireworks or other antisocial behaviour, please report it to North Yorkshire Police via 101, online through our website, or 999 in an emergency.
